Hemp Bev Certified
The certification for the people who sell, stock and pour hemp derived THC beverages. Three editions, eight modules each, covering the science, the dosing, and the compliance rules, and written for a category whose federal definition changes on December 11, 2026.
The federal definition of hemp is about to change.
Section 781 of the 2026 appropriations act moves the federal hemp standard to total THC and caps a finished consumable hemp product at 0.4 milligrams of total THC per container. Most of what is on shelves today sits above that line. Cannabinoids a hemp plant cannot produce on its own lose hemp status earlier, on November 12.
That is the single largest thing a rep, a buyer or a bartender needs to understand right now, and almost nobody in the channel has been taught it. Read what changes, and what it lands on.
One category, three rooms.
The science, the dosing and the legal foundation are the same in all three. What changes is who is standing in front of you and what they are about to ask.
Distributor sales teams, account managers and business development reps selling hemp derived THC beverages into retail.
Retail associates, store managers and floor staff at any location carrying hemp derived THC beverages.
Bartenders, servers, floor managers and beverage directors at any bar or restaurant pouring hemp derived THC beverages.
What a certified person can do.
Explain what hemp derived THC is, where it comes from, and why a federally compliant product can still be restricted in a given state.
Read a label and a COA by milligram, and say what a serving means when the container holds more than one.
Describe onset, peak and duration accurately, which is the difference between a good night and an incident.
Stay inside what may lawfully be said about the product, and recognise a brand claim their own business cannot repeat.
Gated, scored, and written for a shift.
Every module ends in a scored knowledge check at seventy five percent, and the next module does not open until it is passed.
Two to three hours, taken in as many sittings as the schedule allows. Staff finish it around shifts, not instead of them.
The course teaches what the product is and what it does. It does not teach anybody to promise a customer an outcome, because nobody lawfully can.

Does the December 11 change make this training pointless?
It makes it more necessary. The change moves which products are lawful and where, it does not remove the demand or the shelf. The people selling, stocking and pouring need to know what changed, what they may still carry, and what they can say about it.
Which edition does my team need?
HBC-S for distributor sales teams and account managers. HBC-R for retail associates and store managers. HBC-OP for bartenders, servers and anyone pouring.
How long does it take?
Two to three hours for HBC-S and HBC-R, and about 150 minutes for HBC-OP. All three save progress between sessions.
What does it cost?
Fifty seven dollars a seat, one time, for HBC-S and HBC-R. It falls to forty seven from two seats, thirty seven from ten, and twenty seven from twenty five. HBC-OP is not on sale yet.
What is the pass mark?
Seventy five percent, on every module knowledge check and on the final assessment.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is trade education. State rules differ and they move. Confirm your own position with counsel before acting on anything in the course or on this site.
Twelve weeks until the definition changes.
The product is going out the door either way. Whether the person selling it knows what they are holding is the part you control.
